Fire testing similar to standard Small burning flame, SIS 65 00 82 and EN ISO 11925-2.
The test is performed in controlled airflow in a fire testing apparatus and has good repeatability. The test is not certified and does not include a certificate. The purpose of the test is to give an indication of the materials ignitability during a material development project. After testing you will have a better understanding of the materials properties for further material development or to make a decision to proceed to certification testing.
To do a full certification test you need to turn to an accredited certification laboratory.
You need to prepare the sample material and sent to us.
Each material must be prepared in samples 50×300 mm times the number of samples you decide for. Marking should be for example Material A Sample 1 OR A1, A2, A3,,, B1, B2 Or any other systematic way you prefer.
Organic and hygroscopic materials must be acclimatized otherwise the test will fail. You can let us acclimatize your material for you or you can do it yourself. If you do it you need to pack the material in a airtight and sealed packaging. If we will acclimate your materials we will put it in a climate chamber until the weight of the material is stable. The time for this could be 24 h up to several weeks depending of the material composition and thickness.
Planing a test it is usually a good idea to use a reference material (similar material that meets the standard that you aiming for) and maybe a zero-sample (similar material with no flame retardant)
We will report by a pdf file by e-mail including a table with raw data and compilation.
We will not return any samples.
